Summary

Grangevieille is an old village house, modestly but comfortably furnished, with new beds and bedding in each of the bedrooms. The house is owned by a local family and I was so impressed when they first showed it to me! It is one of the only village houses which is being offered in its entirety i.e. not divided up into separate apartments, and provides space and tranquility for two or three families or a big group of friends.

Situated in a quiet corner of Le Monêtier les Bains, Serre Chevalier 1500, Grangevielle is surrounded by a mix of other old houses and more recently-built chalets.

It is set in its own grounds with a garden, inevitably often submerged in the snow! There is space for two cars although excess snow may involve parking nearby, within easy walking distance.

Enter the building and the vaulted ski room is straight ahead which doubles up as a games or storage room.

Head up the twisting staircase and the first floor has a large lounge with open fire and dining room (boasting a long dining table for 12 people) with views over the garden. From here you have access to the balcony which stretches the length of the building.

The kitchen is also on the first floor and has everything you need.

There are two bathrooms; one on the first floor which offers a full-size bath with shower and the other on the second floor near the bedrooms which is a shower/wet room.

Please note that you will need to bring along duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases and towels (mattress protectors, duvets and pillows are provided).

The supermarket is just a couple of minutes walk, as are the bars, restaurants, bakeries, post office and newsagent.
