Great - I have finally added this brilliant and super-convenient apartment to my selection of places to stay in Le Monêtier les Bains.

The apartment is on the first and second floors of a traditional, fully restored village house - and it's slap bang whollop between the pistes and the village centre. Absolutely perfect for two to three couples or a family of four to six people, who are looking for somewhere near the pistes, a few hundred metres from the magnificent thermal spa and only 100 metres from the village shops, restaurants and bars.

Enter the apartment from the quirky steps in front of the house and take the stairs up to a large open-plan living and dining room. The kitchen is right there too so it's fantastic for spending après-ski time together or cooking with friends.

There is also a large private ski locker/cellar although you can of course leave your skis and boots at the bottom of the pistes which
is even more convenient.

The double bedroom is just off the main room, and the bunkbed room at the bottom of the stairs conveniently located along with the shower room and WC.

From the windows you have views of the village, the pistes, surrounding peaks and Monêtier's very own glacier.

The beautiful Cité Vauban (the old town of Briançon), a short drive from the apartment, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Why not eat in one of the town's great restaurants e.g. Lou Grand Caire, or Le Passé Simple, after a leisurely walk around the fortifications and the magnificent Collegiale church? During the day, the main cobbled street provides entertainment and a multitude of shops for non-skiers.
