Maison Les Clochettes epitomises comfort and the beauty of traditional village houses that are built using local larchwood. It is just simply a really beautifully-furnished property. The house was until recently a family home – so much thought has gone into its layout and the function of each room. You simply have to stay here if you want to enjoy the convenience of being right in the heart of the village while being just minutes on foot from Serre Chevalier’s ski lifts.

Enter the house and you’re greeted with a stack pile of wood for the open fire and lots of space to keep your boots, shoes and outdoor equipment. From here, you can also access a spacious one bedroom apartment if you are booking for eight people (six in the house, and two in the apartment).

The house’s location is just off a quiet village street 100 metres from Monêtier’s supermarket, bars, restaurants, museums, bakeries, butchers, newsagents, … There is on-street parking but it’s best to use the village car parks so you avoid getting stuck in piles of snow that’s been pushed by regular snowploughs during the winter (the village is at 1500 metres altitude). You have views of other traditional village houses and, of course, the pistes and glacier from the lounge balcony.

You’re welcomed by the kitchen, dining area and lounge as you enter the first floor – with a fabulous fireplace that sits centrally, warm and welcoming! The kitchen could be described as ‘artisanal’ – wood features everywhere and everything has its place. The lounge chairs invite you to stay put and just relax (after a hard day on the mountain of course!) The dining area has access to the balcony where you can also enjoy a bite to eat on a warm sunny day.

There are three bedrooms, one double and two twins. Two bathrooms (one with bath and one with shower) are on the same floor. You have everything you need for just a week or a longer stay perhaps in spring or summer.

The owners have strong connections with the Hotel Alliey & Spa and so have included FREE use of the hotel’s spa for all guests… Walk just 50 metres and you’ll be welcomed into the spa: indoor heated pool with massage jets, outdoor heated pool with incredible views of the mountains and glacier, hammam and even a DECLEOR salon (treatments here must be booked and paid for in advance.)

In addition, Les Grands Bains, one of Europe’s largest thermal spas, is just 200 metres walk from Maison Les Clochettes. It’s worth a visit for its plunge pools, immense pools and extensive list of treatments. Click here for more information.
