Chalet Simone is actually an old village house, thoughtfully renovated and furnished to create perfect accommodation for two or three families or a large group of friends. The house sleeps 14 people in five bedrooms, four of which have ensuite bathrooms with showers.
Located just 25 metres from the river La Guisane, it sits in a quiet but convenient position, surrounded by other traditional village houses and attractive chalets. Supermarket, bars, restaurants, souvenir shops, newsagents, butchers, bakeries – they are all within 200 metres walk.
You’re welcomed by the kitchen and dining area as you enter the house, and then a step down takes you into a magnificent vaulted lounge with TV, DVD, hifi and an open fire place for you to enjoy in the autumn.
On the first floor there are two ensuite bedrooms (one with original stable-door and traditional wooden features throughout), an independent WC and a useful storage area with washing machine and tumble dryer.
The top floor has three bedrooms. The first is a large family room with double bed and ensuite bathroom plus a mezzanine (ladder up to roof space) with two single beds. There is a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a single bedroom with sink. All of the bedrooms are carpeted and often described as cosy by guests – meaning warm and comfy, not at all small!
The open fire place in the lounge is ideal for autumn evenings, but the house is a cool retreat during the hot summers. The garden is well-equipped with a BBQ and table, chairs and sunloungers – perfect for children to play safely while you sit back with a book and a glass of wine!
Les Grands Bains, one of Europe’s largest thermal spas, is just 150 metres walk from Chalet Simone. Click here for more information. Bikes can be carried up the mountain on the Bachas ski lift which is also 150 metres walk. Rafting and kayaking takes place from a start-point just minutes from the chalet door, and there are walks aplenty in every direction.
We ask that you do not smoke in the chalet.

The beautiful Cité Vauban (the old town of Briançon), a short drive from the chalet, is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will happily book one of its restaurants for you e.g. Lou Grand Caire, or Le Passé Simple. You can walk leisurely around the fortifications and the magnificent Collegiale church and, during the day, the main cobbled street provides entertainment and a multitude of shops and cafés.
